skier on the mountaintop

Have you ever had the feeling that you’re at a point in life where decisions you’re making will really shape your future, and not just your future, but who you are as a person? Like you’ve just gotten off the chair lift at the top of the ski mountain of life and the direction you head will determine which choices are available to you and which have now disappeared?

That’s where I’m at. It feels pivotal. Not just pivotal as in important, but pivotal as in directional.

Here are some of the words and phrases that are currently staring me straight in the face:

  • Habits.
  • Discipline.
  • Faithfulness.
  • Character.
  • Love.
  • Devotion.
  • Intimacy with God.
  • Sacrifice.
  • Marriage.
  • A wasted life.

And as I teeter here, I must thank my Lord for His great patience with me, a sinner.

  1. Nate: I hear ya man, those crossroads are always tough when you hit them. I’ll be praying for you during this tough time.

  2. No, Nathan and I know NOTHING about crossroads…haha.

We are def. sitting at one right now as we are listening for our next step after seminary. For us it has been a real challenge to sift God’s voice out from the thousand others which try to lay claim on our decisions: parents, friends, co-workers, peers, etc.

You’ll be in our thoughts and prayers.

  3. Thanks, guys. I appreciate it.

  4. I hear ya, man. Pivotal is the word.

You got it, though: choose God as your Kingpin and don’t let the world unhinge you.

    Blessings and prayers -
